GENOA CITY, W.I.—When Victor Newman poured himself a stiff drink in front of his alcoholic wife Friday night he had no idea his daughter was about to introduce a new man in her life he would most likely despise. According to sources, it was reported that Travis Crawford, fresh from his victory of neutralizing an unnecessary attack on his character by his girlfriend’s ex-husband, introduced himself in the least endearing way possible—by insulting Mr. Newman with an accusation of alleged criminal activity.
“I said that pulling off something like this isn’t so preposterous for a man like Victor Newman,” Crawford later told reporters over the phone when reached for comment. “I didn’t even bother to introduce myself or give a reason why I was standing in Mr. Newman’s living room in the first place”. Like his girlfriend, Crawford had drawn the conclusion that due to Newman’s considerable means, resources and motivations he was likely guilty of orchestrating an elaborate plan to help his accused son, Adam Newman escape police custody and flee with his wife and child to parts unknown.
Admitting he was more than confident and at ease in his obvious blunder, Crawford said he extended his arm for a handshake that Newman could only regard with disdain before returning to his couch to sip on his drink. Crawford went on to foolishly align himself with Newman saying he was, at one point in his life, just like the mega successful billionaire, who quickly advised the young man not to compare his penny-ante dalliances on Wall Street with the empire that he spent his entire life building.
“To me, I’ve just always been into staying true to myself, you know. Maybe Mr. Newman didn’t like the way I casually accused him being a criminal and that’s okay, because I can’t please everyone,” Crawford said before adding that now that he was putting down roots in Genoa City he was almost certain there would be other opportunities to offend his girlfriend’s father in the future.
